But before you go...

I finished writing my second children's picture book. The back ground of why I'm wrote it is sort of interesting. In 2019, I published a book called Broken Toys. It began as a journal of sorts and ended up being the chronicle my life. Well, it's about 85 percent true. If you're interested, you can find it HERE. Shameless plug, I know.

Anyway, my God son found out I wrote a book and wanted to read it. Given the adult nature of the material, it wasn't going to happen any time soon. But it was the fact that I wrote it that consumed him. He now longed to be an author at the ripe old age of 8. Over the next two years, he's continaully said he wanted to write a book. That year I bought him an old school typewriter for his endeavors. I'm pretty sure it's sitting in a closet somewhere.

At Christmas of 2022, he told me he decided what he wanted to write and enlisted my help. I asked him what the book was about. He told me, "It's about a wrench wanting to be a hammer." We worked back and forth as I asked him questions. "Does the wrench know the hammer?" "Why does he want to be a hammer?" The playful interrogation revealed an interesting perspective. I'm sure you can imagine several ways this short-form tapestry could be woven. In fact, take a crack at it yourself. I'd love to read your version.

As children do, he kind of forgot about it, but I didn't. Life is bus but I finally finished it. I'm still getting the the illustrations done. My goal is to create a book where he has an author's credit. The words are mine but they mean nothing without his inspiration. I want the story he dreamed up thriving in the wild. One that resonates with people. Something I hope you will all enjoy.

I'll let you know when it's available. We are really excited to share it with you.

Thanks for stopping by!
